Did you know that white keys can be called “sharp” as well? :-) Yes they can. They can be called “flat” too. Because all the term, sharp means, is to go a semitone (half tone or half step) higher. And all the term, flat means, is to go a semitone lower. So because of this, the key that plays C can also play B#. The key that plays E can also play Fb. C can be B# and B can be Cb. Many beginners find it hard to understand this but when you realize that sharp and flat simply means to go up or down a half step, respectively, it's not hard at all.
